From one wife to another, let’s talk about beauty—real beauty, as seen biblically.

Hey sis,
Let’s have a little heart-to-heart. Have you ever caught yourself scrolling, flipping through a magazine, or walking past a mirror and just thinking, “I could really use a glow-up”? Same here. But lately, God has been flipping the script for me on what “attractive” really means. Spoiler alert: It’s not about the perfect winged eyeliner or dropping ten pounds. Let me share what I’ve been learning about looking more attractive, not just to others, but first and foremost to God and myself.
1. Start With the Heart (1 Peter 3:3-4)
The Bible says, “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment… rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”Whew. That hits deep. God isn’t against us getting cute. He made us creative! But He reminds us that real attraction flows from a heart that is peaceful, kind, and anchored in Him. You can have the baddest twist-out and still be bitter. Let’s keep the heart beautiful first.
2. Confidence is Kingdom (Proverbs 31:25)
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” That’s a woman who knows who she is. There is something magnetic about a woman who walks into a room not trying to impress, but simply living out her purpose. You want to look more attractive? Walk like you know you’re a daughter of the King. Shoulders back. Head up. Don’t let shame dress you anymore.
3. Joy Looks Good on You (Nehemiah 8:10)
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” When your joy comes from God, it shows. Laugh a little more. Smile at yourself in the mirror. Joy has a way of lighting up your face better than any highlighter.
4. Dress With Honor (Proverbs 31:22, Romans 12:1)
Yes, sis, you can be modest and still be fly. The Proverbs 31 woman rocked purple linen, homegirl had style! But what made her really stunning was that her wardrobe reflected her values. Dressing with honor doesn’t mean boring or baggy, it means you wear things that celebrate your beauty without compromising your dignity. We’re God’s temple after all.
5. Speak Life (Proverbs 16:24)
You ever meet a woman who’s not only beautiful but speaks with so much grace and wisdom, you just want to be around her? That’s what Proverbs calls “gracious speech” and it’s described as “sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” When you speak life over your husband, your children, your friends, even strangers, you become a light. And girl, lights attract.
So, if you’re feeling like your glow is a little dim, take a second. Breathe. Look up, not out. There’s nothing wrong with a fresh hairstyle or a new outfit, but true attractiveness starts when we let the Word shape us more than the world.
Let’s fix our crowns, moisturize our souls, and walk in the beauty God placed in us.
You’re already stunning, sis. Just in case you forgot. 💕
